Gallery Choir

Who: All singers, high school age and up
What: SATB choir, learning and presenting a wide variety of music
When: Thursday evenings, 8 pm; Sunday warm-up, 9:15 am
Where: Music Room in the Meetinghouse
Why: Provide musical leadership for 10:00 Worship Service.
Under the guidance of Music Director Mark D. Watkins, the Choir sings every week as part of the 10:00 Worship Service.
New members are always welcome! No auditions necessary.
Festival Choir

Who: All singers, high school age and up
What: SATB choir which focuses on performance pieces (Cantatas, etc.)
When: Thursday evenings, 7:30 - 8 pm; warm-up for concerts, etc., TBA
Where: Music Room in the Meetinghouse
Why: To reach out to the congregation and community through music.
This special scheduling is designed to accommodate singers who cannot commit to the weekly schedule of the Gallery Choir, but who wish to sing for special occasions. New members are always welcome! Auditions are not required, but the Director may ask to hear your voice to ensure most efficient placement.
Bell Choir

Who: Ringers, high school age and up
What: Learning and presenting a variety of handbell music
When: Thursday evenings, 6:30 – 7:15 pm
Where: Music Room in the Meetinghouse
Why: Enhance the 10:00 Worship Service monthly, other opportunities.
This group consists of “ringers” of all ability levels. Reading music is helpful but not necessary. In addition to playing in Worship from time to time, the Bell Choir also takes part in occasional concerts.
Music Ministry: Graded (Children/Youth) Musical Groups
Cherub Choir

Who: Children 3 – 6 years old
What: Earliest of the graded choirs
When: During Sunday School class time
Where: In their classrooms
Why: To foster a love of singing in a warm, positive environment.
This group enjoys learning a variety of music, especially chosen for their unique talents. The Cherubs sing special music in Worship from time to time.
Genesis Generation

Who: Children in grades one through five
What: Singing, Tone Chimes, Moving to the Music, and more!
When: immediately after the 10:00 Worship Service (during coffee hour)
Where: Music Room in the Meetinghouse
Why: Have fun learning about music and worship
This newly formed group will present special music at the 10:00 Worship Service from time to time as part of Children’s Time (A Thought for the Young People). In addition, they will be invited to sing for special occasions.
Youth Ensemble

Who: Youth of the congregation, grades 6 – 12
What: Singers and Instrumentalists
When: To be determined.
Where: Music Room in the Meetinghouse
Why: To give the youth of First Church a voice in worship and outreach.
The Youth Ensemble, as yet unnamed, will feature instrumental and vocal music from our talented young people. Variety will be the theme; it is hoped that the Ensemble will share their music in worship and outside performances. Watch this site for updates!
