ASP trips are a wonderful way for our youth to immerse themselves in a very different culture and  perform meaningful mission work. We are so proud of the important work First Church is doing each summer in Appalachia and so pleased that so many of our youth are participating. It doesn’t hurt that we always seem to get assigned a home to work on that has a great family to get to know. Our youth not only get to learn how to build and repair plumbing, roofing, carpentry, sheet rocking, painting, and electrical, but they get a chance to give hope to the families we help out. Helping our teens to view the world without their Connecticut glasses on, even if only for a week, has helped develop lasting impressions and fond memories.
